Biography

My name is Wesley (Wes) Beck and I am a 6-12th grade Social Studies teacher. I have also served as a drum instructor at Glencoe High School from 2014 to 2019, as well as a Baseball Coach at Gadsden City and Odenville Middle Schools. Currently, I teach 8th grade World History at Gadsden Middle School.

After graduating from Southside High School (2009), I briefly attended Gadsden State Community College before accepting an office position with Gadsden Music Company. Upon returning to pursue my education, I earned my associate's degree from Gadsden State (2017) and my bachelor's degree from Jacksonville State University (2020). While at Jacksonville State, I also completed my Foundations of Leadership Certification (2019) while also serving as a student ambassador for the Department of Secondary Education (2019-2020).

This is my second tenure with Gadsden City Schools, as Gadsden Middle was also my first teaching position upon earning my degree. My father is also a graduate of both Disque Middle (now GMS) and Gadsden High School, and walked the very halls I teach in. Because of this, I consider GMS my home. I truly believe that GMS has the best administration, staff, and students around. I currently reside with my wife (Beth) and daughter (Emma Kate) in Trussville (Yes, it is worth the drive!).
